Contribution and Premium Calculations
Contributions are based on the extent of the cover or benefit, which consist of In-Hospital Services and Day-to-Day benefits. Premiums are adjusted every year to make provision for the ever increasing medical costs. The maximum tariff payable for medical treatment (e.g. consultations, medication, procedures, etc.) increases annually based on negotiations between NAMAF and Medical Practitioners. However, a further contributing factor is the benefit utilization by members. The more members claim, the higher the risk that the premiums will increase the following year.
